Hello lovely human beings!!! ☺️

I have my first self published BOOK!!!

Click HERE to go check it out.

Say hello to Penny the chickadee! PENNY THE ARCTIC’S ECHO is out NOW on Amazon! I worked hard half of 2024 to self publish this book. There has been many hardships, like in all projects. There has been much excitement, like in all projects. And finally, oh finally, it is DONE!

Penny and the Arctic’s Echo follows a tiny but brave chickadee named Penny who dreams of exploring faraway place. Its a story inspired by climate change and the privilege of home, the perfect tale for Christmas time.

I’ve wanted to publish/self publish a book filled with a wonderfully written story and carefully crafted, unique characters since I was teeny tiny. A very random hobby in my family. I have way to many stories in my head, a good and bad thing. I have so many saved up, some born out of things I’ve seen and others born out of true random blankness.

And…ever since I was teeny tiny I’ve also loved…nature. Nature has been a comfort, nature has been a nurturing force and a desolate and peaceful place to escape the world’s piercing eyes. So.. why not combine the two!?

And I did just that. I pondered and pondered, digging through my very busy brain, until Penny and the Arctic’s Echo was born. And oh how glad I am it was born!

This is an all ages book but is considered a Children’s book. It’s appropriate for young ‘uns as young as two.

But there are some heavy topics that inspire this book… Climate change was my biggest inspiration. Something we are all suffering due to, although some of us are oblivious to it. I wanted this book to wake up all of our brains in the best way possible, remind us how beautiful nature is and why we need to protect it. The arctic is one of the most affected areas due to Climate Change. As you read the book, you may notice certain parts this is hidden in.

Since this book is a children’s book, my goal was to inspire youth to love nature, just how I did- thanks to many lovely books I read when I was young that inspired me so much. Young and nerdy little Lucy reading her big ol’ book on bird feathers would be very happy and proud I hope.

I hope you enjoy this book and enjoy the story of Penny. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

-Lucy
